About Kazba Books

Kazba Books really has its origin story based on two separate elements. Actually it's more like three different elements.

First, there were comic books. I've been a big comic book reader since 7 or 9 and an avid collector since 14. When collecting comic books, you keep them around and don't throw any away. And if you are a good collector, you board and bag every single issue and then store them in boxes, generally 11" high by 8" wide by 27" long. After a while the boxes build up; at my peak I had 20+. It was at this point that I realized I was not going to actually read most of them again so I opted to sell them and trade them in for new comics. I still have about 10 boxes that I would love to sell; I just needed someplace to list them all. Hence, reason number one.

Next, there were book reviews. In addition to being an avid comic book collector, I am an avid book reader. Mostly horror and suspense. Stuff to get your blood pumping and put you on edge. And somewhere around 1997, I started writing a mini-review of each book I read. Not exactly sure why but I did. Being the sharing type of guy, I figured that I should shared all these reviews with other like-minded people. Reason number two.

Finally, there was the Web. At the time I was a consultant and newly diving into the whole HTML, Web, Internet thing and wanted a way to learn how to do "stuff". What better way than creating my own Web site, but what to use for content that wouldn't be breaking any copyright laws? Ding! Reason number one and two! And the rest, as they say, is history.

Naturally the site has gone through many evolutions and continues to do so. Right now I'm gradually updating pages to include CSS support so I can mass changes easier. Plus the whole Movie Reviews section is relatively new and has much to do with help provided by Bill and Talance.

And if you have anything else you'd like to know or inquire about, just give me a ping. I'll gladly tell.
